Abstract

These pieces are inspired by textures and shapes that remind us of aerial views of the world, patterns of natural elements, such as stone, wood, vegetation, etc. The artist blends these organic shapes with geometric lines to present a visual and symbolic contrast. The organic lines, shapes and textures refer to the world in its natural state; the geometric lines and shapes represent a man-made vision of the world. This contrast between the two perceptions of the world is important for the artist, since it represents her way of expressing the importance of keeping an open mind by always seeing the world in all of its aspects. Keeping an external vision towards what is surrounding us helps us stay objective, appreciate and acknowledge our surroundings in a more compassionate way.
